PARIS DIARY | DAY 1 | HAUTE BASICS

Flight from Prague to Paris lasted only around 1 hour and twenty minutes, so it was really quick and shortly we departed at the Charles de Gaulle airport, which is the France biggest one. We waited for our luggage and went to get some info about how to get to the centre. I have to say that their whole system of the transportation feels very tricky to me. We took a taxi to get us to the hotel. There is a fixed price 50euros. It was the most cheapest, quickest and easiest option. It took around 40 minutes to get to the centre, so at the end the way from the airport to the hotel was longer than the way from Prague to Paris. The driver couldn't speak English at all, so it was very hard to speak with him, nevertheless he taught us some french phrases and was very kind. After our arrival to the hotel, we left our stuff in the room, relaxed a bit and headed to the centre of Paris. Our first steps led to the Galeries Lafayette, which became the most beautiful shopping mall I have ever seen, but what was happening inside was crazy. 30 minutes and more lasting queus before you could at least enter the store. Especially Chanel and Louis Vuitton. At the top floor we had something to eat and i had my first raspberry tartallete in Paris. Yum! At the top terrace there is a great view to the whole city of Paris and Eiffel tower and what's the good thing - it is for free! Few steps from the Lafayette, there is Sephora store, which has the worse service than the czech one and now that's something. The counters are dirty, empty and the good things are all sold out. The assistants are veeeery harsh and not friendly at all, not willing to speak English with you. Actually, this is a problem of all the french people, i think. They just speak French and that's it. You don't speak French? Your problem. On the way back I stopped in few pharmacies to explore the stuff they sell and I was amazed. They have so many things for very reasonable prices, well done! My advice is to go through some of the pharmacies, because the prices are extremely different, so that way you can save a loooot of money, for which you can buy maybe some cake!

Let z Prahy trval asi jen hodinu a dvacet minut, takže to uteklo velmi rychle a za chvíli už jsme přistávali na letišti Charlese de Gaulla. Počkali si na kufry a šli zjistit nějaké informace o tom, jak to tu funguje s dopravou. Musím říct, že celý ten jejich systém se mi zdá dost složitý a nepřehledný. Do hotelu jsme si vzali taxi, které váš odveze přímo tam, kam chcete a jezdí za fixní cenu 50euro, ať už jedete kamkoliv s kýmkoliv. Bylo to nejlevnější, nejrychlejší a nejjednodušší řešení. Cesta do centra trvala asi 40 minut, takže nakonec skoro trvalo déle se dostat z letiště do centra, než z Česka do Francie. Nicméně jsem s řidičem prohodila několik slov a i když neuměl absolutně anglicky, tak nás naučil pár francouzských výrazů a byl celkem příjemný. Potom jsme dorazili na hotel a dali si věci na pokoj. Trochu jsme si odpočinuli a vyrazili se poohlédnout po centru. Naše první kroky vedly do nákupního centra Galeries Lafayette, která se stala asi nejhezčím nákupním centrem, které jsem kdy viděla, ale to, co se dělo uvnitř bylo šílené. Několik desítek minut trvající fronty snad na všechno značkové zboží, zejména Chanel a LV. Strávíte ve frontě půl hodiny, klidně i více, jen abyste se vůbec do obchodu dostali. Dříve se stály fronty na banány, dnes se stojí na kabelky haha. Nahoře jsme se najedli a já si dala svůj první malinový dortík v Paříži, který byl moc dobrý. Pak jsme se šli podívat na střešní terasu, te které je fakt pěkný výhled na celou Paříž a Eiffelovku, a to zadarmo. Pár kroků od Lafayette je Sephora, která je, vážení, ještě horší, než ta česká a to je, co říct. Stojany jsou špinavé, rozryté a vše lákavé je vyprodané, prodavačky nepříjemné, neochotné mluvit anglicky, což tedy se neděje jen v Sephoře, ale všude. Neochota místních mluvit jakýmkoliv jiným jazykem než francouzsky je nekonečná a ti lidé mi byli extrémně nesympatičtí. Cestou zpátky jsem se zastavila i v několika lékárnách, abych prozkoumala zdejší sortiment, který je opravdu tak široký, jak se říká a ceny jsou velmi příznívé. Než ale něco koupíte, projděte pár lékáren, ceny se dost liší a tak můžete ušetřit dost peněz, za které si pak můžete dát třeba dortík!
